That's actually what brings me back here. (Shocking, no?) In my quest to better my artistic skills, I *think* I know what I need to find: An art critique forum of some kind. My most successful attempts at developing my skills were due to the time I spent at pixeljoint/pixelation, where people trade critiques and tips, sometimes editing each others work, and challenges are offered regularly to help you learn to use limitations as inspiration.
I know art can be posted on the forums here, but for some reason I feel like thats cheating, and Im not entirely sure I won't just get a slew of "thats cool"'s and "good job"'s. I've also considered conceptart.org and satellite soda. The former is waaay to intimidating for me, I know Im not up to par for that yet. The latter still feels out of my league, but I dig the tight-knit feel of the community there and everything's just so pretty! Im a sucker for pretty.
So I guess what Im getting at is: Can anyone tell me of any other forums like the ones mentioned above? Should I suck it up and join one that intimidates me as a way of kicking my own ass into gear?
I feel like this is a lot like my previous journal entry, and I haven't gotten very far from there. Feel free to salmon-slap me if I get too much more redundant...
